The news of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s death on Saturday has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s public space.

Informant Online reports that Ubah passed away in his hotel room in London.

Before his death, he was a senator under the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Anambra South.

Ubah was first elected to the Senate in February 2019, winning the Anambra South Senatorial District election on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP). He later defected to Nigeria’s ruling party, the APC.

Born on September 3, 1971, Ubah died at the age of 52.
