Bobrisky’s Release Date Revealed

The release date for controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, who was sentenced to six months imprisonment, has been revealed.

In April, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky for the abuse of the Naira. The judge imposed the sentence without an option of fine, stating that it would serve as a lesson to others engaging in similar offenses.

Bobrisky’s jail term began on March 24, the day of his arrest.

In a report published on Wednesday by Punch newspaper, an impeccable prison source and Bobrisky’s lawyer, Ayo Olumofin, confirmed his imminent release from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

The Punch quoted the prison source as saying, “Bobrisky will be released on Monday, August 5.”

Additionally, the report mentioned that Mr. Olumofin, who represented Bobrisky in court, also confirmed the release date.

“Yes, it’s about that time for him to be released. There is nothing specific that would be done during his release. I might not go. I’m engaged outside Lagos. Maybe other lawyers will go. As I told you, I am not his original lawyer. I just did allocution for him.”
