The headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State is currently engulfed in flames.
The secretariat was set ablaze during violent protests against hunger. Aggrieved youths stormed the facility in Dutse, the state capital, destroying billboards and other publicity materials before setting the building on fire. Vehicles parked within the premises were also torched.

The violence has spread to other parts of the state, with armed youths causing chaos despite efforts by security operatives to contain them. In Birnin Kudu, several people sustained injuries as the State Fertilizer Store and Grains Store were vandalized and looted by the mob. The store of the state Agricultural Supply Company (JASCO) in Gumel was also attacked.
The mob further targeted the residence of the House of Representatives member representing Gumel, Gagarawa, and Maigatari, as well as the home of the APC Zonal Vice Chairman.
