An eyewitness told Channels Television on Saturday that the protesters blocked major roads leading to Mai-adua-Kwangwalam and Daura, as well as the T-junction leading to Buhari’s residence.

The eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that the protesters, numbering in the hundreds, chanted slogans such as ‘Bamayi,’ meaning ‘We are not in support,’ and ‘Adalci Mukeso,’ meaning ‘We need justice.’ They also burned tires to express their anger.

The protesting youths eventually submitted a letter outlining their grievances to one of the former president’s aides for delivery to Buhari.

A heavy security presence surrounded the former president’s residence during the protest, and the Katsina State Government later imposed a curfew across all 34 Local Government Areas to maintain law and order.
