BREAKING: Protesters Arrive Gani Fawehinmi’s Park In Lagos

#EndBadGovernance protesters have begun gathering at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, Lagos.

In a statement released on Sunday by Hassan Taiwo, Ayoyinka Oni, and Adegboyega Adeniji on behalf of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria Organising Committee, the group expressed that President Bola Tinubu’s recent address had not fully addressed their demands.

The organisers acknowledged the President’s address as an “important victory for our movement,” but emphasized that their concerns remain unresolved.

“Without our courage and resolve to dare the odds, even this acknowledgement would not have happened. So far, we have demonstrated that a President is not greater than the rest of the country,” the statement read.

The protests, which began on Thursday and have taken place across several states, have escalated into violence in some areas, prompting state governments to impose curfews.

By early Monday, a heavy police presence was already established at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, ahead of the gradual arrival of protesters in batches.
