BREAKING: Fubara Signs New Executive Order In Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has signed an Executive Order to establish an investment agency aimed at coordinating business interests from investors who now see the state as a preferred destination.

Governor Fubara signed Executive Order No. 002 of 2024 for the creation of the Rivers State Investment Promotion Agency.

The order was presented to him by the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dagogo Israel Iboroma, SAN, at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House in Port Harcourt on Monday.

The governor explained that this move enacts one of the key recommendations from the committee report on the Rivers State Economic and Investment Summit held in May.

He emphasized that the summit was instrumental in positioning the state for economic growth, and the new investment promotion agency will serve as a one-stop-shop to efficiently manage all related activities within the state.

Fubara said: “This will enable investors, when they come in; they won’t need to run around, and maybe, fall into wrong hands or associations that will want to reap them off their investment stakes.

“With this, they will have an agency that they could go to, liaise with and the agency will have the required answers to whatever it is that they will need to address concerns before it.”

He stated that the agency will be fully established and operational within a few days.
