President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Dr. Badamasi Lawal as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).
On Tuesday, seven Nigerians were named to head strategic agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
According to a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), these appointments aim to provide necessary relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programs.

A recent announcement revealed the new appointments within various government offices:
Dr. Lawal, who holds a doctorate degree in education, has been appointed as a commissioner in Katsina State.
Ms. Funmilola Olotu has been named Programme Manager at the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. She holds a master’s degree in business administration and currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
Ms. Aishat Alubankudi is now the Programme Manager for the Grant for Vulnerable Groups. She holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and has previous experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
Princess Aderemi Adebowale, who holds a doctorate degree, has been appointed as the Programme Manager for Home Grown School Feeding. She currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and previously held the position of a local government chairperson.
Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam has been appointed as the Programme Manager at the National Cash Transfer Office. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has previously served as chief accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd, as well as a bank manager.
Mr. Ayuba Gufwan has taken on the role of Executive Secretary at the National Commission for People with Disabilities. He holds an LLB and currently serves as the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos.
Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello has been appointed as the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and has previously served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, as well as Permanent Secretary in both the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
In a recent statement, President Tinubu emphasized the imperative for the new heads of these crucial agencies and programs to carry out their duties with the highest level of integrity and diligence. This is to ensure that Nigerians, particularly those in vulnerable groups, are the primary and direct recipients of the restructured welfare initiatives under his administration.
