BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Bashir’s Wife, Two Daughters

On Thursday, the wife and two daughters of Kogi-based journalist Muhammed Bashir were among ten family members abducted in Kaduna State.

Bashir’s wife and daughters had arrived in Kaduna earlier that day for a holiday with her family in a suburban area of the city.

Bashir, a correspondent for the Nigeria Telegraph, informed his colleagues of the kidnapping in a brief statement on Friday in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State.

“My dear colleagues, please I need your prayers. My two daughters and their mother, including eight others, were kidnapped yesterday by unknown gunmen in Kaduna where they went for a holiday. Pls pray for me,” he wrote in the Kogi Correspondents’ Chapel WhatsApp platform.

He mentioned that he had reached out to both the police and the Department of State Services, who assured him that efforts were underway to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.
