Nigeria has been hit with two sad news from the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics.
Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathanial, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie have been disqualified from the men’s 4x400m relay at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The team, which had maintained Nigeria’s hope of securing a medal at the tournament, was disqualified after the referee reported a lane violation in the semifinal [TR17.2.3].

With a time of 2:59.81, Nigeria’s quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie had finished 2nd in their semifinal heat and were hopeful of advancing to Saturday’s final.
South Africa will now advance to the Men’s 4x400m final in place of Nigeria.
Also, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, the 2022 world champion and world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, did not advance to the final of the women’s 100m hurdles event at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday.

Amusan finished behind the United States’ Alayasha Johnson, who recorded 12.39 seconds, and the Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton, who recorded 12.50 seconds.
