New Exchange Rate Emerge As Naira Records Third Straight Appreciation Against Dollar

The naira has now posted its third consecutive gain at the official foreign exchange (FX) market, reaching 1,574.20 per dollar since the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) introduced its weekly retail Dutch auction system on Wednesday.

On Friday, the naira appreciated by 1.23 percent, with the dollar priced at N1,574.20, compared to N1,593.62 the previous day, as reported by the FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited.

On Thursday, the naira had already gained 0.18 percent, closing at N1,593.62, up from N1,596.52 on Wednesday.
