On Monday morning, a dynamite explosion shattered the secretariat of the Action People’s Party (APP) along the GRA axis in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The attack comes amid speculation that State Governor Siminalayi Fubara might be considering aligning with the APP, following claims that his predecessor and former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, has taken control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

According to The Punch, the explosion also caused significant damage to the ceiling and fittings of the building. Some APP officials were seen discussing the incident, with one unnamed party member suggesting that the attack was politically motivated.

He stated, “Yes, I’m a member of the APP. I was informed of the attack at about 3 am today.

“This is politically-motivated and there is no two ways about it. They know that the APP is a fast-growing political party in the state. We call on the police to investigate this and arrest the culprits.”
