BREAKING: Appeal Court Delivers Ruling On Goje’s APC Membership Status

On Tuesday, a Court of Appeal in Abuja confirmed that Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje is a legitimate member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.

The appellate court, in a ruling delivered by Justices Abba B. Mohammed, E.O. Abang, and P.C. Obiora, overturned a previous Federal High Court decision that had barred Senator Goje from identifying himself as an APC member.

The court also dismissed the earlier judgment and imposed a fine of N200,000 on the Gombe APC.

In July 2023, Senator Goje had filed an appeal seeking a stay of execution of the lower court’s ruling, which had upheld his expulsion from the APC’s Kashere Ward in Akko Local Government Area. Represented by his counsel, Paul Erokoro (SAN), Goje argued that the initial court’s decision was flawed, claiming it violated his right to a fair hearing.

Goje contended that the expulsion letter from the ward chairman, Tanimu Abdullahi, did not specify the alleged anti-party activities that led to his dismissal. The expulsion had occurred in April 2023 due to accusations of anti-party conduct during the 2023 general elections.
