BREAKING: New Commissioner Of Police Posted To Edo

Nemi Edwin-Iwo has been posted as the new Commissioner of Police for the Edo State Police Command.

He assumed office on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, succeeding CP Funsho Adegboye as the 47th commissioner of the command.

According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, Edwin-Iwo was previously the Commissioner of Police in charge of intelligence at the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Originally from Okrika Local Government Area in Rivers State, Edwin-Iwo holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Port Harcourt and a Master’s in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has advanced through various ranks.

His previous assignments include serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State Command, Commissioner of Police for the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) at Force Headquarters, Abuja, and holding roles as Police PRO in Lagos and Oyo states, as well as Divisional Police Officer in Bayelsa State.

A member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Edwin-Iwo has completed numerous tactical and leadership courses both within Nigeria and internationally.
