The meeting also saw the participation of state governors, some deputy governors, ministers, former Chief Justices of the Federation, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and the National Security Adviser.

Notably, former Nigerian leaders Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and General Ibrahim Babangida were absent from the meeting.

Obasanjo was Nigeria’s head of state from 1976 to 1979 and later served as president from 1999 to 2007.

Babangida was Nigeria’s military president from 1985, following a coup d’état against his rival, Muhammadu Buhari, until his resignation in 1993. His resignation came after he annulled the June 12, 1993 election, which led to widespread political unrest.
