Reinstated APC Chairman, Emeka Beke Reveals Current Party Of 27 Rivers Lawmakers

Emeka Beke, the reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has reaffirmed the membership of the 27 lawmakers from the Rivers State House of Assembly who left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC on December 11, 2023.

Addressing journalists after a court ruling in his favor over Tony Okocha, who had been serving as caretaker chairman, Beke confirmed that Martin Amaewhule and the 26 other lawmakers, who are loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, are legitimate members of the APC in Rivers State.

Beke also reaffirmed the APC’s participation in the upcoming local government elections in the state and praised the judiciary for upholding democratic principles in Nigeria.

Last November, the APC National Working Committee, led by Abdullahi Ganduje, had dissolved Beke’s executive on the grounds of alleged anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections.
