The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has reported that Benue, Delta, and Borno states are the least expensive to live in Nigeria.
According to the Consumer Price Index and Inflation Data for July released on Thursday, these states experienced the slowest rise in Headline Inflation on a year-on-year basis.
Benue recorded a headline inflation rate of 27.28 percent, Delta 28.06 percent, and Borno 28.33 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, Taraba (0.17 percent), Kwara (0.62 percent), and Ondo (0.91 percent) experienced the slowest increases in headline inflation.
Conversely, Abuja (3.91 percent), Borno (3.84 percent), and Enugu (3.76 percent) saw the highest inflation rate increases.
According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Nigeria’s headline inflation decreased to 33.90 percent in July.
This marks the first decline in inflation since 2022, when it was 21.34 percent.
Additionally, the NBS reported that a reduction in the prices of staples like garri and fufu contributed to a drop in food inflation, which fell to 39.53 percent in July from 40.87 percent in June.
