The Federal Capital Territory High Court has adjourned the lawsuit between social media influencer Martins ‘VeryDarkMan’ Otse and Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Deliverance Mercy Land International Ministry, Warri, Delta State.

Fufeyin is seeking N1 billion in damages from ‘VeryDarkMan’ for publicly questioning the legitimacy of his faith-based products and demanding the NAFDAC certification number for these products.

According to a report by TVC posted on its YouTube page on Saturday, Justice Nwosu Iheme, who is presiding over the case, has adjourned it to September 6 for further hearing.

The adjournment was requested by Fufeyin’s counsel, Ihensekhien Samuel, who indicated that he had only recently received the defendant’s counterclaim.

Justice Iheme also issued an order to maintain the status quo, which preserves the current state of affairs while the case is ongoing. This injunction prevents either party from taking actions that could alter the present circumstances.

The court further restrained VeryDarkMan from making derogatory comments about Mr. Fufeyin until the injunction motion is heard. Fufeyin has requested that VeryDarkMan retract the defamatory statements made on July 17 and any other libelous content.

Additionally, Fufeyin is seeking a court order requiring VeryDarkMan to publish an unconditional apology in at least three national newspapers within seven days of the judgment.
