Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has scheduled a date to respond to the Nigerian Police Force’s invitation.
Ajaero has chosen Wednesday, August 29, to attend the meeting. He conveyed this date to the Inspector General of Police through a letter from his legal representatives, Falana and Falana Chambers.

The police have summoned Ajaero regarding allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.
In the letter, Ajaero’s lawyers also requested detailed information about the allegations against him.
Parts of the letter signed by Samuel Ogala, read: “Therefore, Ajaero is prepared for your interview on Wednesday, August 29, 2024.
“Furthermore, in accordance with the provisions of Section 36 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as altered, Ajaero requests for the details and nature of the allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion and cybercrime levelled against him.
“While awaiting your response to this letter, please accept the assurance of our highest esteem.”
