Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, emphasized the crucial role of computer literacy in today’s civil service, stating that there is no room for computer illiteracy among public servants.
Speaking in Abuja while overseeing the Confirmatory Promotional Examination (COMPRO) held across 45 centers nationwide, Walson-Jack urged public servants to enhance their computer skills to meet the demands of modern civil service operations.
She highlighted that proficiency in computer use is essential for anyone working in the nation’s civil service.

“For public servants to be relevant in today’s civil service under the digitisation program, you must be computer literate,’’ she said.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, highlighted that the federal government is transforming the civil service to align with global standards.
She emphasized that civil servants who are not yet proficient in computer skills must acquire them to keep pace with these changes.

Represented by Mr. Raymond Omachi, the Permanent Secretary of the Common Services Office in the Office of the HOCSF, Walson-Jack noted that the Confirmatory Promotional Examination (COMPRO) was administered to 12,444 candidates across the country.
The examination, conducted in collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), included newly appointed officers in various public service sectors, including para-military forces. This initiative aimed to ensure transparency in the process.
Mrs. Walson-Jack extended her gratitude to JAMB for their efficient execution of the exam, stating, “From what we have seen, the process has been seamless. I have been informed that everything is proceeding well.”
Mrs. Funmilola B-Usman, Acting Director of Information Technology Services at JAMB, who represented the board, praised the initiative and expressed her satisfaction with the candidates’ performance during the examination.
“It is great and surprising that the candidates are in tune with the system. Their attitude and posture portrayed that they are ready for the exercise, which is exactly what we are seeing now,’’ she said.
