Wolves Vs Chelsea Full Time Match Report

Noni Madueke scored a hat-trick as Chelsea triumphed 6-2 over Wolves, securing Enzo Maresca’s first Premier League win as Chelsea’s manager.

Maresca, who had suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City in his debut match after taking over from Mauricio Pochettino, saw his team find their rhythm with a UEFA Conference League play-off win over Servette on Thursday.

However, it was Chelsea’s dominant performance at Molineux that truly marked their breakthrough under Maresca.

Chelsea got off to a perfect start just 98 seconds in when Nicolas Jackson headed in from a corner after Matheus Cunha’s attempted clearance.

This goal provoked frustration among Wolves fans, who were already upset by Madueke’s social media post.

Madueke had criticized Wolverhampton in a now-deleted post, calling it “s**t,” which he later attributed to a mix-up with his Instagram account.

Wolves equalized in the 27th minute when Rayan Ait-Nouri set up Cunha, whose powerful shot beat Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez.

Cunha’s goal was a reminder of his previous hat-trick at Stamford Bridge last season.

Chelsea regained the lead just before half-time when Cole Palmer, after receiving a flick from Jackson, lobbed a delightful finish over Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Despite Toti’s equalizer for Wolves just before the break, the match swung back in Chelsea’s favor early in the second half. Madueke’s deflected shot from Palmer’s assist restored Chelsea’s advantage.

Madueke completed his hat-trick nine minutes later, finishing coolly through Sa’s legs after Palmer’s run dismantled the Wolves defense.

The 22-year-old’s third goal mirrored his previous efforts, once again finishing off a Palmer assist to quiet the home crowd.

Joao Felix, making his debut for Chelsea after his permanent move from Atletico Madrid, added the final touch to the rout in the 80th minute. Felix scored a stunning top-corner goal after being set up by Pedro Neto.
