Mohammed Mohammed has officially assumed the role of Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, succeeding Ahmed Abubakar.
The transition was formalized on Tuesday, August 27, in a ceremony where Abubakar handed over the leadership to Mohammed.

The event was recorded by the Nigerian Television Authority.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Mohammed to the position following Abubakar’s resignation, which was submitted during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Saturday.
On Monday, Tinubu also approved new appointments for the Director-General positions at both the NIA and the Department of State Services.
