Ohanaeze Reacts To Uzodimma’s Supreme Court Victory

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the leading Igbo socio-cultural organization, extended its congratulations to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma on Monday following the Supreme Court’s judgment that upheld his electoral victory.

On Friday, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Samuel Anyawu, which sought to overturn Uzodimma’s win in the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Imo State.

In a statement released on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, Ohanaeze commended Uzodimma for his perseverance and success after the protracted legal dispute.

“A deeper reflection on the Uzodimma trajectory presents the quintessence of God’s mysteries:  ‘I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion’. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.

“Beyond the foregoing Lord’s assertions is the Uzodimma pragmatic vision, incredible prospectus and awesome social skills,” Ohanaeze noted.

The organisation praised the governor for “his uncommonly large heart, audacious achievements, friendly finesse and extraordinary perseverance in overcoming the seemingly insurmountable obstacles.”
