Many Killed As Bus, Truck Collide On Ore-Benin Expressway

At least 16 people were killed and three others were injured in a tragic road accident on the Ondo-Ore Expressway at Ajure community in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday night.

The collision involved an 18-passenger Toyota Hiace bus and a truck.

The two vehicles were reported to have collided head-on, causing the bus to catch fire and resulting in the deaths of 16 of its occupants.

Three survivors were rescued from the wreckage.

Mr. Ibitoye Samuel, the Ondo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

He stated that the accident was caused by overspeeding and improper overtaking. The rescue operation concluded around 11 pm.
