Hajia Dada, mother of the late former Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, has passed away.
She died on Monday evening at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, following a brief illness.

Hajia Dada was also the mother of the late Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.
The family will announce burial arrangements at a later date.
Umaru Musa Yar’adua served as Nigeria’s president from 2007 until his death in May 2010 and was the governor of Katsina State from 1999 to 2007.
