BREAKING: Tinubu Gives Former Minister Of Finance New Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Mansur Muhtar as Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Industry Limited.

Dr. Muhtar, who previously served as Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Development from 2008 to 2010 and as Vice-President (Operations) at the Islamic Development Bank.

Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s media aide, highlighted that Dr. Muhtar’s career encompasses decades of experience in finance, international development, public service, and academia.

Other key appointments include Dr. Olasupo Olusi as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, and five executive directors: Mrs. Ifeoma Uz’Okpala (Large Enterprises), Mr. Shekarau Omar (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Mr. Usen Effiong (Corporate Services), Ms. Mabel Ndagi (Public Sector and Intervention Programmes), and Mr. Rotimi Akinde (Corporate Finance and Risk Management).

The board also features non-executive directors such as Mallam Tajudeen Datti-Ahmed (Ministry of Finance Incorporated), Mr. Adedamola Olufemi Young (Central Bank of Nigeria), Reverend Isaac Adefemi Agoye (Manufacturers Association of Nigeria), and Mallam Muhammad Bala (Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment). Additionally, Mr. Oreoluwa Adeyemi and Mr. Sulaiman Musa Kadira have been appointed as independent non-executive directors.

The President expects the new board to work collaboratively and with dedication to advance the Bank of Industry’s mission of supporting projects that promote job creation, poverty alleviation, and improve the socio-economic conditions of Nigerian families.
