The Nigerian Air Force’s Special Forces have neutralized Mustapha Abdullahi, a notorious terrorist leader, along with five of his fighters in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to a statement from NAF spokesman AVM Edward Gabkwet, the operation took place on August 31, 2024.
It was initiated after receiving intelligence about Abdullahi and his group being spotted near the Sabon Gida Forest on Sabon Birni Road in Igabi LGA.

Gabkwet explained that the intelligence indicated a potential threat of the terrorists planning to kidnap, harm, or kill civilians.
As a result, a team from the NAF 413 Force Protection Group was dispatched to the area to address the threat.

“After making contact with the terrorists who were on motorcycles, on sighting the Special Forces, the terrorists immediately opened fire and were met with superior fire power by the troops, eliminating all the terrorists”.
Gabkwet reported that the team recovered five dane guns, a locally fabricated sub-machine gun, live ammunition, various charms, lighters, SIM cards, and phone cases from the suspected terrorists.
He emphasized that the mission to clear Igabi, Birnin Gwari, and surrounding areas of criminal elements is ongoing.
The troops have been praised for their efforts and encouraged to continue their work to protect lives and property.
