BREAKING: NEC Gives Fresh Directive On State Police To States

The National Economic Council (NEC) has set a deadline of September 9, 2024, for all states to submit their positions on the establishment of State Police.

The deadline was announced during a meeting on Wednesday chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting in the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja, Acting Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal, reported that out of the 36 states, four had yet to submit their positions to NEC.

Lawal stated that NEC has mandated these four states to provide their stance by Monday.

He also noted that any state failing to submit its position by the deadline will have no choice but to accept the final decision made by the council.
