List Of MOUs Tinubu Signed With China

The President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, signed five memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Chinese President Xi Jinping to strengthen the economic relationship between the two countries.

Tinubu signed the documents on Tuesday, September 3, during his official visit to China for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

On Thursday, August 29, before departing Abuja for China, Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, announced that the President would meet with President Xi Jinping and other Chinese business leaders.

During this trip, President Tinubu will also attend the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which will take place from September 4 to 6.

The China-Africa Forum is a platform for cooperation between China and African countries, held every three years.

The Five MOUs Signed by Both Presidents

  1. Cooperation plan between Nigeria and China for jointly promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.
  2. Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the peaceful application of nuclear energy.
  3. Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening cooperation in human resource development under the Global Development Initiative.
  4. Memorandum of Understanding on media exchange and cooperation.
  5. Memorandum of Understanding between China Media Group and the Nigerian Television Authority.
