Nigeria’s Falconets advanced to the last 16 of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup with a 4-0 win over Venezuela in their final group match at Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero, Colombia, on Saturday night.
Amina Bello, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, and Flourish Sebastine each scored in the first half, putting Christopher Danjuma’s team in a strong position. Joy Igbokwe added the fourth goal in stoppage time.

This victory marks the Falconets’ second win in three Group D matches, bringing their total to six points, matching Germany’s tally. Despite the identical points, Nigeria was placed second in the group due to a lower head-to-head record and goal difference.
The Falconets will face the top team from Group E—either Japan or Austria—in the knockout stage, with the match scheduled for September 13.
