The Borno State government has provided an update on the pledges and actual donations made by corporate entities, state governments, legislators, individuals, and non-governmental organizations to support victims of the recent flood in Maiduguri.
The devastating floods have displaced over one million people in and around Maiduguri, a key center for humanitarian efforts in the northeast, marking one of the worst floods in Nigeria’s history.

Thousands of homes were submerged after a dam burst due to torrential rain over the weekend in northeastern Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the media aide to Governor Babagana Zulum, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, on Wednesday, the state government acknowledged that not all pledged funds had been credited to the Maiduguri Relief Fund.
The statement further noted that the details of redeemed pledges, including donations and material aid, would be announced in due course, with updates provided daily at 7:00 pm.
