BREAKING: NECO Releases 2024 SSCE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the results of the 2024 internal Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar and CEO, shared the results on Thursday at the Council Headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

He reported that 828,284 candidates, or 60.55 percent, achieved five credits including English Language and Mathematics.

A total of 1,376,423 candidates registered for this year’s internal examination, comprising 709,950 males and 669,473 females. Of these, 1,367,736 candidates, including 702,112 males and 665,624 females, actually sat for the exam.

Wushishi noted that 1,147,597 candidates obtained five credits or more, regardless of their performance in English and Mathematics, representing 83.90 percent. Additionally, 2,267 candidates with special needs participated in the exam.

The registrar highlighted a 30.1 percent decrease in examination malpractice cases this year, with 8,437 incidents compared to 12,030 in 2023.
