What Transpired Last Night Between Yahaya Bello And EFCC

Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) attempted to arrest former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello on Wednesday night at the Kogi State Governor’s lodge in Asokoro, Federal Capital Territory.

The operation faced resistance from security personnel at the lodge, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

The area has since been cordoned off, with movement restricted to EFCC operatives and other security agencies stationed in the vicinity.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that former Governor Yahaya Bello has left the governor’s lodge, accompanied by the current Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo.

Following the attempted arrest, normalcy appears to have returned to the area around the Kogi State governor’s lodge.

This incident adds to the ongoing saga involving Bello, who is on the EFCC’s wanted list for allegedly laundering N80.2 billion.
