New Coach Appointed Ahead Of Nigeria Vs Libya AFCON Qualifiers

Libya has appointed Nasser Al-Hadiri as the new head coach ahead of their 2025 AFCON qualifiers against the Super Eagles next month.

Al-Hadiri previously served as an assistant to Spanish coach Javier Clemente, who managed Libya in 2014.

He replaces Serbian coach Micho, who was dismissed after Libya failed to secure a win in their first two AFCON qualifying matches.

Libya drew 1-1 at home in Tripoli and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Benin in Abidjan, leaving them at the bottom of Group D with just one point after two rounds of games.

They are set to face the Super Eagles in Uyo on October 11, followed by a home match in Benina, near Benghazi, four days later.
