BREAKING: NFF Takes New Decision On Eguavoen

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has requested that Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen, continue in his role to lead the team in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya next month.

NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, announced that the federation’s Executive Committee approved the recommendation from its Technical and Development Sub-Committee for Eguavoen, who is also the NFF’s technical director, to remain in charge.

The 58-year-old coach, currently serving in a temporary capacity for the fourth time, led the Super Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda in their first two qualifying matches earlier this month.

Eguavoen, along with his technical crew comprising Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec, will also oversee the Super Eagles B team as they prepare for next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

In addition, following the departure of Randy Waldrum, the NFF’s Executive Committee has endorsed the recommendation for Coach Justin Madugu to head the Super Falcons’ technical team until a permanent head coach is appointed. Madugu’s immediate task will be leading the team in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals, set to take place in Morocco next summer.
