Find Out If ‘FBI Uncovered $6 Billion At Ex-Governor Wike’s London House With Already Written 2027 Election Result For Tinubu’

A Facebook report alleges that the FBI discovered $6 billion and result sheets for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election at a London residence belonging to Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister.

The post is headlined: “Breaking News: FBI Uncovered $6 Billion at Ex-Governor Wike’s London house with Already written 2027 election result for Tinubu.”

See post here.

Wike served as the governor of Rivers State from 2015 to 2023. Although he is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, he was appointed FCT Minister by President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

This claim has appeared in various posts across social media, accompanied by three images: one depicting a stack of boxes, another showing scattered documents, and the third featuring Wike.

However, the question remains: Did the FBI genuinely uncover such a large sum of money and election result sheets for an election scheduled three years from now?

The claim involves the discovery of 60 million $100 bills, which would amount to $6 billion. If verified, this would represent the largest cash seizure on record.

For context, this amount is nearly ten times greater than the largest documented cash seizure, which was $650 million confiscated during the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.

That hidden cash was reportedly discovered in metal containers buried behind a wall in one of Saddam Hussein’s palaces.

A seizure of $6 billion in cash, equivalent to 60 million $100 bills, occurring in a London residence owned by a Nigerian politician would undoubtedly attract global attention.

However, we found no credible reports from local or international media to support this claim.

Reverse image searches reveal that the photos used as evidence for the claim actually originate in the United States.

They are connected to the indictment of former U.S. President Donald Trump concerning the alleged retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida after leaving office.

One of the images, published by Le Monde, a prominent French newspaper, on June 11, 2023, was captioned: “An undated image released by the U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida shows stacks of boxes in a bathroom and shower at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.”

Additionally, the documents featured in another photo do not resemble the result sheets utilized in Nigeria’s elections. Instead, they are reportedly some of the materials seized by the FBI from Trump’s residence during a search conducted on August 8, 2022.

There is no evidence to support the veracity of any aspect of this viral claim.
