The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms across various parts of Nigeria from Thursday to Saturday.
According to NiMet’s weather outlook released in Abuja, thunderstorms are expected on Thursday morning in parts of Kebbi State in the North.
As the day progresses, thunderstorms are predicted over Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
In the North-Central region, thunderstorms are anticipated in parts of Niger and Kwara states during the morning, with further storms expected later in the day over the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Niger, Plateau, and Benue states.
In the southern region, NiMet forecasts morning thunderstorms in parts of Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Ondo, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Delta states.
Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected to affect Enugu, Ondo, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Osun, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, and Delta states.

NiMet has forecasted thunderstorms for Saturday, starting with the North-East, where parts of Taraba and Adamawa states are expected to experience thunderstorms in the morning.
In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are predicted for areas in Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Sokoto states.
For the North-Central region, thunderstorms are anticipated in Plateau and Niger states during the morning, with more expected later in the day over Niger, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory.
In the South, thunderstorms are expected in the morning across parts of Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, and Delta states.
By afternoon and evening, Oyo, Ogun, Edo, Abia, Imo, Ebonyi, Delta, and Cross River states are likely to experience thunderstorms.

In the northern region, thunderstorms are expected in parts of Taraba State on Sunday morning.
Later in the day, thunderstorms are forecasted for Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Taraba, and Jigawa states.
For the North-Central region, cloudy skies with periods of sunshine are anticipated in the morning, while thunderstorms are expected in parts of Kwara, Kogi, and Benue states during the afternoon and evening.
In the southern region, thunderstorms are predicted over Oyo, Ogun, Edo, Ondo, Delta, Rivers, and Lagos states. As the day progresses, thunderstorms are also anticipated in Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, and Cross River states.
The agency advised residents to steer clear of flood-prone areas, warning of a high risk of urban flooding in major cities due to heavy rainfall.
NiMet also cautioned that strong winds may precede the thunderstorms in affected areas, urging the public to take necessary precautions.
It called on relevant authorities to follow safety advisories issued to ensure public safety.
