Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs Liverpool Match Preview

Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson will be available for Saturday’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Slot praised his replacement, Caoimhin Kelleher, who performed well during Alisson’s recovery from a muscle injury, helping secure a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth and a 5-1 win against West Ham in the League Cup.

“We believe he is ready to return,” Slot said of Alisson. “He trained partially yesterday and we expect him to complete today’s session.”

Slot highlighted the squad’s depth, noting that Kelleher’s contributions showcased the team’s strong options in key positions. Liverpool sits second in the league, just a point behind champions Manchester City, with only one loss in all competitions since Slot took over.

The manager faced some tough decisions in his squad rotation against West Ham, where Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota both scored twice, indicating the quality of the attacking options available.

“This shows the players have a lot of quality and the team is consistently creating chances,” Slot noted.

Key players Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dominik Szoboszlai were rested on Wednesday but are expected to return against Wolves, who currently sit at the bottom of the table with just one point from five matches.

“I don’t think their position reflects their performances,” Slot said, acknowledging Wolves’ tough fixture schedule. “They deserve more points and will be fine by the end of the season.”
