The office of the Edo State Deputy Governor, located on Osadebe Avenue in Benin, the state capital, was sealed off on Sunday by stern-looking policemen.
This office, to which Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu had been relocated after his falling out with Governor Godwin Obaseki, was found with its gates closed and a police truck, equipped with a mounted machine gun, stationed outside with three officers on guard.

Reports indicate that on Friday, staff from the Deputy Governor’s office were instructed to report to the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Agency.
Additionally, official vehicles, including the Press Crew bus, were moved to the office of the Head of Service, located inside the Government House on Osadebe Avenue.
A staff of the Deputy Governor’s office on Sunday said, “You know we are civil servants. On Thursday, we were told to resume in JOOPSA and that was where we also resumed on Friday and we would also do that tomorrow (Monday).”
