What Kano Governor Did After Police Officers Returning From Edo Election Died In Road Accident

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Saturday, extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of five police officers who lost their lives in a tragic motor accident in Karfi town, along the Kano-Zaria road, last Tuesday while returning from Edo State.

The governor’s message of sympathy was conveyed in a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, in Kano.

Yusuf, along with senior government officials, visited the Bichi Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force to offer his condolences to the bereaved families and to those injured in the accident.

The statement added, “On behalf of the government and the people of Kano, Governor Yusuf prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the departed souls eternal rest in Jannatul Firdausi, a speedy recovery for the injured, and to prevent such incidents in the future.

“Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf also donated N500,000 to each of the families of the five deceased officers and N250,000 to each of the 11 injured officers.”

It should be noted that five officers from the Bichi Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force tragically lost their lives in a car accident while returning from Edo State after participating in the governorship election.
