Iran Reveals Position On Sending Forces To Confront Israel

Iran will not deploy forces to Lebanon or Gaza to fight against Israel, according to its foreign ministry’s statement on Monday, despite Israeli strikes on its regional allies.

Nasser Kanani, the ministry’s spokesman, clarified that Iran sees no need to send additional or volunteer forces, asserting that Lebanon and Palestinian fighters possess the strength and capability to defend themselves against Israeli attacks.

In recent days, Israel has intensified airstrikes on what it calls the “axis of resistance,” a coalition of Iran-aligned militant groups operating across Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq.

This follows an Israeli airstrike in Beirut that killed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group that has long been supported by Iran.

Kanani stressed that Iran had not received requests for assistance from these groups and that they had confirmed they do not require Iranian military forces.

However, he warned that Israel would face consequences for its actions against the Iranian people, military personnel, and allied resistance forces.

Additionally, on Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Hezbollah’s office in Tehran to honor Nasrallah, while Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed that Nasrallah’s death would not go unpunished.

Iran has also pledged to avenge the killing of Abbas Nilforoushan, a senior commander of the Quds Force, who was killed alongside Nasrallah.
