While some residents observed the Independence Day holiday in a subdued manner, many went about their normal activities.

Security personnel, including police, civil defence forces, and the Department of State Services, were visibly stationed in key areas like Narayi High Cost, Barnawa Complex, and Stadium Roundabout as a precaution.

Interestingly, the Coalition of Concerned Citizens of Kaduna State had distanced itself from the protest, urging residents to focus on constructive engagement rather than disruptive actions.

The group praised government initiatives, such as the establishment of skill acquisition centres, and encouraged participation in local government elections as a means of enacting meaningful change.

The #October1Fearless protest, organized by a coalition of civil society groups to highlight issues such as economic inequality, social injustice, and political repression, appeared to have little impact in Kaduna State.
