The Israeli military reported the deaths of seven more soldiers killed in combat in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, raising the total death toll to eight since the offensive began.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also confirmed that an officer and four soldiers from the Egoz Unit were “severely injured.”
The IDF did not specify the exact locations in southern Lebanon where the soldiers were killed. The fallen soldiers were part of the Egoz Unit, Golani Brigade, and Yahalom Unit.

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF announced the death of another soldier.
In separate statements, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli forces in three different villages in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army reported that an Israeli force had breached 400 meters (about a quarter mile) into Lebanon before withdrawing shortly after.
