BREAKING: Alleged ₦110bn Fraud: Court Takes Fresh Action Against Yahaya Bello

Justice Maryanne Anenih of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has issued a public summons for Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, to appear in court regarding new 16-count allegations against him.

Bello is required to attend court on October 24 for his arraignment alongside two other defendants.

The summons was issued following a request from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Anenih directed the EFCC to publish the summons in a widely circulated newspaper and to post copies at Bello’s last known address and in prominent areas of the court premises.

The EFCC reported difficulty in serving Bello with the charges filed on September 24, which involve allegations of criminal breach of trust amounting to ₦110.4 billion.

The other defendants named in the charge are Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu.
