A prominent political figure who served as the Director-General of MKO Abiola’s campaign organization during the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Jonathan Zwingina, has reportedly passed away.
Zwingina was also a former senate majority leader.

Although his family has yet to release an official statement, Leadership Newspaper reports that the Adamawa State-born politician died on Wednesday, October 2, at the age of 70 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He was said to have passed away following a prolonged illness.
Zwingina represented Adamawa South Senatorial District in the Senate and was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before later joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
