The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the official timetable for the 2024 Rivers State Elective Congresses on Friday, which will begin on November 2.
This information was shared in a statement by the APC’s National Organising Secretary, Malam Suleiman Argungu, in Abuja.

It’s worth noting that a few months ago, the party appointed a caretaker committee led by Chief Tony Okocha to manage the election of new leadership for the state chapter after dissolving the Beke-led executives.
Despite the recent court ruling reinstating the Beke-led executives, the APC’s National Working Committee has maintained that it will continue to recognize the caretaker committee, asserting that the court does not have jurisdiction over party matters.

In a statement released on Friday, the APC announced that aspirants for the chairmanship and vice chairmanship positions must obtain the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms, which are priced at N3 million and N2.5 million, respectively.
For local government chairmanship positions, the form is set at N100,000.
The statement partly read, “Female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities are to purchase the Expression of Interest form with a 50 per cent discount on the nomination form. Youths aged 25 to 40 should also purchase the Expression of Interest form with a 50 per cent discount on the nomination form.
“Only financial members who have paid membership dues up to three months before the date of the delegate congress at the rate of N200 per month will be qualified to vote at the Ward Congress.”
Continuing, Argungu announced that the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms would be available for purchase at the Directorate of the Organisation at the APC’s national headquarters in Abuja.
As per the updated timetable and schedule of activities, the screening and appeal committee will be formed on October 18, with the deadline for submitting completed forms set for October 21. The congress to elect state executive council members is scheduled for November 9.
