Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has officially renamed the newly remodeled government house in honor of former Minister of Defense General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (retd.), following approval from the state House of Assembly.
At the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Ibrahim Yaboro, Permanent Secretary of the Government House in Jalingo, remarked that the recognition given to Danjuma serves as a gesture of gratitude for his significant contributions to the creation of Taraba State.
Yaboro emphasized that the people of Taraba will always be thankful to Danjuma, who holds the title of Abonta of Wukari and has served as both Chief of Army Staff and Minister of Defense.

“He single-handedly pursued and obtained the approval of the top military brass for the creation of Taraba State.”
He further stated there is no one in Taraba state who deserves the honor and recognition more for this “act of patriotism and love for his people”, than Danjuma.
“General Danjuma single handedly pursued And secured approval for the creation of Taraba state ” he said
The permanent secretary said General Danjuma is a statesman, philanthropist, and a leader whose impact on human capital development extends beyond Taraba State.
According to him, “We cannot enumerate what you mean to Taraba, Nigeria, and Africa as a continent.
“May God continue to grant you good health and wisdom as you continue to impact positively on the lives of people irrespective of tribe, religion, and ethnicity through your Foundation.” Yaboro said.
Danjuma, visibly pleased, unveiled the remodeled building and expressed his gratitude to the state government for the honor.
He also encouraged the people of Taraba to support Governor Agbu Kefas to achieve the desired transformation in the state.
Among the top government officials present at the event were Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Umar Damagun, former Minister of Information and National Orientation Jerry Gana, and former acting governor of Taraba Alhaji Garba Umar UTC.
