Tragedy struck in the Oshodi area of Lagos on Saturday when a train fatally struck a 50-year-old man named Emmanuel near Arena Shopping Mall.
According to PUNCH, Emmanuel’s sister alerted the police after receiving a call around 9 am informing her of the incident.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the Mosafejo Division was notified around 1:33 pm.

A team of detectives was dispatched to the scene, where they took photographs and later evacuated the body to a public morgue for autopsy.
The case has been transferred to the Railway Police Command in Ebute Metta for further investigation.
While the exact circumstances of the accident remain unclear, a similar incident occurred in August in Mushin, where a man was killed by a train while walking along the Cappa railway tracks.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency reported that the victim in that incident died instantly from the collision.
