Libya Shares Video Showing What Happened To Their Players In Nigeria

Libya has released a video documenting its national football team’s arduous journey by road from Port Harcourt to Uyo, highlighting the difficulties they faced ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

This comes as tensions between Libya and Nigeria rise following Nigeria’s withdrawal from the second leg of the fixture.

The Super Eagles had secured a 1-0 victory over Libya in Uyo on October 12, but the second leg in Tripoli was canceled after their flight was diverted to Al Abaq Airport.

The Nigerian team was stranded for over 15 hours without assistance, leading the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to recall the team back to Nigeria.

In response, Libyan authorities expressed regret over the Super Eagles’ experience but released footage showing their own players struggling through tough conditions in Nigeria.

The video depicted the Libyan squad navigating poor roads, passing multiple checkpoints, and traveling in darkness during their road trip to Uyo.

The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) asserted that their players faced comparable challenges during their stay.
