They were welcomed by the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists after the reception, Elebute-Halle, who previously served as the ADP’s Deputy National Chairman, cited the ongoing reforms by President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a key reason for her switch, expressing confidence that these changes would ultimately benefit the nation.

She also praised Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji for encouraging her to join the APC.

She said, “We are joining the APC to be a progressive partner to Mr President and his Renewed Hope Agenda, and we believe that the current government policies will eventually succeed.

“Due to my governor’s intervention, I was able to make a final decision on 7 October, when we had what resembled a congress in Ekiti State. On that day alone, we had over 7,000 men and women who defected to the APC.

“Many of the new converts came from the six geopolitical zones, not only from the ADP where I contested. They joined from APP, ADP, AD, SDP, LP, PPA, and PDP.”

While welcoming the new APC members, Ganduje praised Elebute-Halle and her supporters for their courageous decision to defect and for their faith in Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He assured them of equal opportunities within the party, emphasizing that the new members would be actively involved in all party activities.
