The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has postponed its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally set for October 24, 2024, to November 28, 2024.
This decision was made during a consultative meeting of various party organs held on Tuesday at the Bauchi State Governors’ Lodge, Tatari Ali House, Asokoro.

A communiqué issued by Senator Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, stated that the postponement aims to ensure the party approaches the upcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections, scheduled for November 16, 2024, with the unity and strength needed to “unseat the struggling All Progressive Congress (APC) government in the state.” The meeting also focused on promoting harmony among members.
“Reiterating the need for unity in the face of efforts by detractors to divide the party, the meeting called on all members to shun divisive utterances that could undermine ongoing efforts at strengthening the party to effectively play its role as the country’s main opposition, preparatory to taking over in 2027,” the communique read in part.
The meeting included the PDP Governors Forum, the Board of Trustees, the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Assembly Leadership of the PDP Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors.
This gathering follows a significant internal crisis affecting the party.
